Fatigue effects of embedding electric vehicles Charging Units into electrified road

چکیده

A charging infrastructure network for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) is more than an option the transportation scenarios of next years. From a pavement engineering point view, this consists in prefabricated Charging Units (CU) embedded into road pavement, generating additional questions related to structural life pavements which CU are located. Moreover, even if available literature few studies describe response e-road, long-term performances not fully investigated. This reason why research analyzes fatigue behavior electrified (e-road) comparison with traditional (t-road). In particular, study devoted identifying number critical load cycles leading failure e-road pavement. As second stage, theoretical and numerical results verified applying findings obtained during first stage real case study: Viale Forlanini Milan (Italy), important two carriageway connecting city center Linate airport. result these analyzes, interesting outcomes were regarding effects embedding estimating service demonstrating that seems be compatible effectiveness as also confirmed by results.
